About PIP

As part of the Government's welfare reform agenda, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have introduced a new benefit called the Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Replacing the Disability Living Allowance (DLA). PIP is designed to help towards some of the extra costs incurred when someone lives with long-term ill health or a disability by understanding the extent to which an individual's health conditions may impact on their daily life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out medical examinations and provide medical advice on capacity of work (PIP assessments).
  • Work to productivity and quality targets and respond positively to feedback.

Registered Mental Health Nurse

£34000 - £38000 per annum

I am looking to recruit a number of registered mental health nurses to work in a low secure hospital in South Wales.

As a RMN you will be expected too:

  • Provide effective leadership in ensuring nursing standards and practices are adhered to
  • Support the Management to ensure that all nursing and care staff understand their roles and are working within the hospitals policies and procedures promoting excellent practice in line with CQC standards.
  • Provide effective operational/clinical leadership and management to achieve objectives and plans.
  • Support Management in ensuring that staff regularly receive staff supervisions whether this is individually or in groups as per the treatment centre policy.
  • Support the learning and development of all staff by acting as a mentor to junior nurses and care staff.
  • Support and undertake clinical risk assessments.
  • Complete and carry out treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence good practice and address poor performance appropriately and ensure the line manager is aware.
  • Assess the needs of our service users, ensuring that their care plans support and reflect their needs.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Registered with the NMC and have an active PIN Number
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • CAMHS experience (not essential)
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team, delegate effectively and promote excellent customer relationships
  • Motivated and have the enthusiasm and drive to support people with complex mental health issues and dual diagnoses through the care pathway to maximise independence, mental and physical well-being and recovery.

Salary for this role is £34,000 - £38,000 depending on experience.

Our client is looking to recruit RGN/RMN to work Nights in a 25 bedded care home with nursing in Tywyn.

As a nurse you will be expected to:

08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday

08.00 to 14.30 Friday

At peak season times these hours can increase to 06.00 to 18.00 so candidates must be flexible.

This work is on going.
