Applicants will need to be able to use handheld vibrating tools, such as kangos electric breakers / jackhammers and electric breakers and will be required to break out concrete.

Support Worker

£20592 - £20592 per annum

Support worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Integra health care team for a Support Worker within our Care Leaving Service for 16-25 year olds. Our aim and yours will be to transform the lives of the young people in our service. As a Support Worker, every day will be different, and you won't find a more rewarding career.

We want to hear from caring, enthusiastic and dedicated team players with a can-do approach who really care about the needs of young people. You'll enjoy working with children and young people, providing day to day support, guidance and facilitate activities. You'll create a safe, caring, and supportive place to live for our young people.

Salary:

The role is paid a salary of 20,592.00 for 40 hours a week. The pattern works two on four off, each shift followed by a sleep as and when required. The shift starts at 8am and finishes at 11am for the sleep in.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Good communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
  • Be a good team player to provide a high level of support and achieve positive outcomes
  • Encourage the young people to be motivated and take part in activities, education and extracurricular activities
  • Have attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork
  • Demonstrate a commitment to own training and development
  • Be able to adapt working practice to the ethos of the home
  • Have resilience, motivation, and determination
  • Can adapt to challenging and changing situations
  • Be inclusive to all children and young people and committed to upholding and protecting the rights of individuals
  • Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins
  • Be confident in using Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word, or willing to learn

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working with adults or young people in a supported living or residential setting
  • Experience of working within learning disability or mental health settings, with individuals who may demonstrate challenging and complex behaviours, or in a therapeutic young people's residential setting
  • Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Persons Workforce or equivalent or willingness to work towards the above Level 3 qualification
  • Knowledge of current legislation relevant to Care Leaving services or supported living
  • Experience of Ofsted/CQC/Social Care Wales inspections
  • Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people

Experience:

  • Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
