I am looking to recruit 2 experienced Registered Children's Manager to provide high quality specialist support for children in Burnley. As the Registered Children's Manager you are the key individual in upholding the companies' vision, ethos and values.

As a Registered Children's Manager you will be expected too:

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children
  • Manage the home within an agreed budget ensuring robust quality assurance processes
  • Supervise and assess all staff and keep records up to date
  • Plan, organise, divert and allocate resources effectively
  • Manage individuals and groups of people effectively and to adapt personal management style to meet the needs of the individuals and teams
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to both staff and young adults
  • Work in partnership with colleagues, local authorities and local communities
  • Motivate and support team providing adequate supervision and care of young adults taking steps to ensure that all young adults are helped to retain their individuality and dignity
  • Ensure a balanced and varied diet is provided with choice available
  • Ensure the maintenance, up-keep and development of the Homes premises and grounds
  • Provide effective operational/clinical leadership and management to achieve objectives and plans
  • Ensure staff regularly receive staff supervisions
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence good practice and address poor performance
  • Assess the needs of the young adults, ensuring that their care plans support and reflect their needs

The successful candidate must have:

  • Management Qualification (NVQ Level 4 or QCF Level 5)
  • 2 years' management experience working with young adults within the past 5 years
  • Managing Ofsted inspections to a minimum overall 'good' rating
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Standards & Children's Homes Regulations
  • In-depth and up to date knowledge of Childcare legislation and current safeguarding legislation including Child Protection
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team, delegate effectively and promote excellent relationships
  • Experience working with children who have displayed HSB or CSE

Salary for this role is up to £50,000 depending on experience plus additional benefits.
