Christmas comes early for Clatterbridge

Children at Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology were treated to an early Christmas present thanks to specialist technical recruitment company Integra People.

Integra People, based in Warrington, donated more than 80 toys to the hospital for their young patients.

From Peppa Pig story books, to Ben 10 figures and Cluedo and Monopoly board games, Integra delivered presents for children of all ages.

David Lewis, Managing Director at Integra People, said: "Many of us have children ourselves and understand that Christmas in hospital can be a difficult time for both children and their families. We hope that these presents go some way to making their time in hospital a more pleasant stay."

Kimberley Smith, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology on the Wirral, said: "We are thrilled with the donation of presents that we have received from Integra People. The gifts will make a huge difference to our patients by being given to children after treatment, placed in our waiting areas and on our Teenage and Young Adult Unit. So the donation of these toys will certainly bring lots of happiness over the festive period and beyond!"

Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology treat more than 26,000 patients each year and offer radiotherapy and chemotherapy services. The hospital is the leading NHS cancer specialist hospital for Merseyside and Cheshire and the hospital hosts the Teenage and Young Adult Unit which is specially designed for patients aged 16- 24 years old.
